Peter F Florio has worked in the financial services industry for over 26 years, developing comprehensive planning solutions for small business owners and high net worth individuals.
Peter’s prior experience working in his family’s business has provided him with a clear perspective in the problems facing small business owners in continuity and succession planning as well as the problems associated with wealth management. As a young teenager, he worked in his Father’s business, learning how to run a business with all of its inherent challenges. When his Father suffered a long illness which eventually ended in his premature death, he and his family experienced the heartbreak and tragic economic consequences of losing everything, leaving the family essentially destitute. The family eventually recovered, but lessons learned left him with a passion to make sure that his clients would never suffer the same fate by adhering to a set of uncompromising planning principals that emphasizes not only setting goals and planning for them, but also ensuring that his clients do not lack in the area of proper risk management. To this day, he lives by the mantra that “Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.” Today, he currently services the wealth building and protection needs of over 400 business and individual clients with over $35 million of assets under management.
Peter’s Mission is to help people make better choices with their money by aligning their financial goals with their core values. He helps people to define and understand their value system which gives them a clear understanding of what matters most to them in life. This empowers them to set their priorities and to define and accomplish their financial goals for reasons that are important to them. Doing so gives them the freedom to spend considerably more time doing things in life that are more important than making money. Ultimately, this provides them with a better quality of life, more fun and greater fulfillment.
In addition to a B.S. Degree in Quantitative Analysis from St. John’s University and an MBA from Hofstra University, Peter’s professional credentials include Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Certified Exit Planner (CExP), Certified by the Corporation for Long Term Care (CLTC) and Life Underwriter Training Counsel Fellow (LUTCF).
